SHIB is the strangest coin on this site and it has one of the better stories behind it. A Shiba Inu casino mostly exists for people already holding the token who would rather play with it than sell it. This SHIB casino review page covers where it came from, what it costs to use, and what we tested before listing an operator.
What Shiba Inu is, and the burn that made it
An anonymous person calling themselves Ryoshi created SHIB in August 2020 as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, styling it the "Dogecoin killer." One quadrillion tokens were minted. Half were sent to a Uniswap liquidity pool. The other half, 500 trillion tokens, were sent unsolicited to Vitalik Buterin's public wallet, a stunt intended to lock them away in an address nobody would touch.
Buterin touched them. In May 2021 he burned 410 trillion SHIB, roughly 41% of the entire supply, in a single transaction, then converted much of the rest and donated over $1 billion to India's Covid-19 relief fund. He later said publicly that he had not wanted the power that holding the tokens gave him. It remains one of the more remarkable things anyone has done with a meme coin.
Ryoshi walked away in 2022, deleting their posts. The project kept going: ShibaSwap is its own exchange, and Shibarium, a layer-2 network launched in August 2023, was built specifically to cut the Ethereum gas costs that make small SHIB transfers awkward.
Being an ERC-20 token is the practical catch. SHIB has no chain of its own, so every transfer pays Ethereum gas in ETH, and you need ETH in your wallet to move SHIB at all.
What a SHIB casino actually feels like
Expect large numbers. A single SHIB is worth a tiny fraction of a cent, so balances and bets run into millions, which is normal here rather than a display bug. Deposits confirm in a few minutes, and cost depends on whether the casino supports a cheaper network than Ethereum mainnet.
Pros and cons of Shiba Inu casinos
Pros
- Lets you play with tokens you already hold without selling into another coin
- 41% of supply is verifiably burned, which is unusual honesty for a meme token
- Shibarium and layer-2 options can cut transfer costs sharply where supported
- A large, persistent community means exchange and wallet support is easy to find
Cons
- You need ETH in your wallet to move SHIB, and mainnet gas can exceed a small deposit
- SHIB is among the most volatile assets any casino accepts
- Acceptance is narrow, so the shortlist is short
- Meme coins attract low-quality operators, so the license check carries more weight here
What we tested before listing
- Genuine SHIB support at deposit and withdrawal, and which networks are used
- A verified gambling license, confirmed at the regulator
- Published RTPs or provably fair originals with a working verifier
- Real withdrawal limits and measured processing times
- Deposit limits, loss limits and self-exclusion that work
- No pattern of unpaid withdrawals in complaint databases
Before you deposit
The token you use does not change the odds. Set a loss limit before you deposit. See our responsible gambling page for the tools these operators provide.
